Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Provide direct representation to individuals submitting affirmative applications to USCIS and the US Department of State
- Provide assistance to community members through:

- Direct representation and advocacy
- Individual consultations
- Self-help assistance in the form of community workshops and legal clinics
- Community Outreach and Education
- Other forms of legal assistance in a wide range of immigration matters
- Advocate for clients before USCIS and other relevant agencies
- Conduct presentations, workshops, legal clinics, and individual consultations in Spanish and English
- Assist individuals with completion of appropriate applications
- Perform factual and legal research and regularly monitor developments in immigration law and procedure
- Explain relevant policies and case procedures to individuals
- Perform administrative tasks related to grant reporting and other requirements
- Work with community partners across Idaho in conducting outreach and community education, as well as development efforts
- Work closely with other immigration program staff members
- Establish and maintain a record keeping and data collection system
- Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records
- Ability to multi-task, manage time, meet deadlines and remain calm and professional under pressure and stressful conditions
- Detail oriented with strong proof-reading skills
- Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with
- CC Idaho policies, procedures, and safety practices
- Ensure compliance with CC Idaho, local, state, federal, and other applicable regulations and standards
Qualifications
Required
- Associate’s degree in a related field with the intent to complete BIA accreditation within 1 year from hire
- Demonstrated commitment to immigrant rights, social justice and sensitivity of challenges with immigrant communities
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft office
- Ability to travel overnight both in-state and out of state
- Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance
- Must pass a background check
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting
